Hello family and friends,
Whew! Crazy few weeks for the Hueys. C is off doing the Army Thing for six months, possibly longer. C has little internet access but don't worry- he is (quote) "embarrassingly safe" ...and I am basically sane.
Sam is adjusting well but wakes most mornings retelling a dream about his daddy. Mostly he talks about the big party we will have when Chip returns.
As some of you know, just prior to C's departure he had a heart cath, which found a blockage in the major vessels going to his heart. C will take heart meds for the rest of his life- but WILL BE FINE.  C's father and basically every man in his family died of heart disease so we feel blessed to have caught this early.
Sam had an appointment at the Spina Bifida Clinic the day after C left. They recommend two more ortho surgeries, ones we were not anticipating, so that was a bit of a bummer.
Our next adoption (of a 12 yo girl in Columbia) is expensive, aggrevatingly slow and frustrating...I was recently reminded by a friend, who is currently in Uganda adopting two children, that our adoption wasn't all that easy for our heavenly father...reality check.
Thank you for your prayers, friendship and support.
Love, K
